Drop-in visits at the client's home — feeds, walks, meds, welfare checks

What is a Home Visit?

A Home Visit is a per-hour drop-in at the client's address. The sitter arrives at a booked start time, spends 30–60 minutes with the pet (feed, quick walk, medication, litter tray, welfare check), and leaves. Nothing overnight — that's Boarding. Nothing at your facility — that's Daycare. Clients typically book multiple windows per day: a morning feed, a lunchtime walk, and an evening feed can all sit on the same date as three separate billable windows, each with its own start and end time.

How Home Visits are priced and booked

Visits are billed by the hour with a minimum billable duration (60 minutes by default). Each window is independent — cancellations, sickness reductions, and check-ins all apply per window rather than per day.

Per-hour pricing

Set an hourly rate on the Home Visit service. A 90-minute visit bills 1.5× that rate.

Minimum billable window

A 30-minute visit still charges the 60-minute minimum. Set the minimum in your service configuration.

Multiple visits per day

Clients pick each window separately — 09:00–10:00 breakfast, 13:00–13:30 walk, 18:00–18:30 dinner. Each has its own price and its own cancellation state.

Separate policies from Boarding

The visits-specific cancellation, sickness, restrictions, blocked-dates and agreement editors let you set rules just for visits. If left blank they fall back to your Boarding equivalents.

Tips for setting up Home Visits

Start with an hourly rate that reflects real drive time — a 30-minute visit often needs 30 minutes of travel either side.

Keep the 60-minute minimum unless you serve a very dense area — it protects the round-trip cost.

Publish honest visit windows (e.g. "arrives 08:30–09:30") rather than exact minutes; traffic will spoil an exact promise.

Use the per-visit policies only when your visits rules genuinely differ from Boarding — otherwise the shared boarding fallback keeps admin simpler.

For key handover, use the Agreement Sections editor to add a clause about how you store and use the key or key-safe code.
