Home Visits Cancellation Policy
What does this policy do?
This policy sets how much a client is charged when they cancel a confirmed Home Visit window. Rules are tiered by how many days of notice the client gives — the closer to the visit, the higher the charge. If you leave this policy blank, visits fall back to your shared Boarding cancellation rules; save any rule here and visits use these instead.
How the charge tiers work
The system checks rules from shortest notice first and applies the first one that matches. Each visit window is evaluated on its own — cancelling the 09:00 visit does NOT force the 14:00 visit on the same day to cancel too. Fees are calculated as a percentage of that single window's price.
Per-window scope
A client with three visits on Thursday can cancel just the lunchtime slot — the morning and evening slots stay confirmed.
Same-day cancellation
Cancels on the day of the visit → highest tier (typically 100%).
Within 1–2 days
Short-notice tier — most late cancellations happen the day before.
Beyond all rules
If the cancellation is earlier than every defined rule, no charge applies.

Tips & best practices
Set your 100% tier at 1 day out — most late cancellations happen the day before.
Because visits are cheap per window, a percentage-of-window fee is often modest — some businesses use flat minimums instead.
Pair with the Sickness Policy so genuine pet illness gets the reduced rate rather than the full same-day charge.
