Dog Walking Agreement Sections
What does this policy do?
The dog walking agreement has 23 standard sections, from Parties & Pet Information to Owner Declaration. This policy adds your own wording to it. You can add a whole new section with its own title, or add extra paragraphs to one of the standard sections. What you add goes into the agreement a walking client reads and signs, into the PDF of it, and into the preview on your Agreements page. Leave it empty and the agreement is the standard one. Only an owner or admin can add or change these clauses — the server refuses anyone else.
How your clauses work
Add New Section
Give it a title and the clause text. It goes in after Termination and before Governing Law and Owner Declaration, and the agreement is renumbered. A blank line starts a new paragraph.
Add to Existing Section
Pick one of the 23 standard sections. Your paragraphs are added at the end of that section. The label is optional — it names the addition in your list here, and the Agreements page preview prints it in front of the paragraphs; the client's agreement and the PDF show only the paragraphs.
Each clause has its own switch
A clause switched off stays in your list but is left out of the agreement, the PDF and the Agreements page preview, and Gaia does not quote it. Delete removes it for good, once you confirm.
Order and saving
The arrows move a clause up or down, and new sections appear in the agreement in that order. Every add, edit, switch, delete or move saves straight away. The "Section 1, 2, 3" chip is the clause's place in this list — its number in the agreement is given when the agreement is built. An addition's chip names the standard section it joins.
Revisions
Adding, removing or changing a clause — its title, text or switch — counts as a revision; moving one, or changing which section an addition joins, does not. If you have saved the Dog Walking Agreement template on the Agreements page, the revision is written to its history there, under Revisions, and a client who has signed can open that list under the agreement on their Forms page. Clients are not told automatically.
Who signs it, and when
A walking client is asked to sign it when it is on their list of forms. That list is filled in when they register — from your Client Forms setup for dog walking clients, or the standard walking set if you have none — and an admin can change it on the client's record. Changing the Client Forms setup later does not change a list already on a client's record; only a client with no list of their own follows the setup. When they sign, the signed PDF, your clauses included, is emailed once to them and to your business email.
A signed copy is rebuilt
The app keeps the client's answers and signature, not the wording. The PDF — emailed when they sign, or downloaded later — is built each time from the standard wording, your clauses as they are now, and the client's saved answers and signature. Opening the agreement in the app rebuilds it the same way from their current details. So a clause you change later changes in copies signed earlier.
The policy switch at the bottom
It sets the card's status on this page and whether Gaia quotes your clauses when someone asks about the agreement's terms. It does not take the clauses out of the agreement — the agreement, the PDF and the Agreements page look only at each clause's own switch. Editing a clause shows the card as on again, but the saved switch only follows on your next save — to turn the policy on, use the switch itself.
Which plans see it
This policy sits in the Dog Walking category, shown to Starter, Walker and Pro, and to a Sitter or Boarder who has added Dog Walking (a free preview on trial counts). The server itself does not check the plan.
Tips
Keep each clause short and in plain words — clients sign the whole agreement, your clauses included.
Use "Add to Existing Section" when the point belongs with a standard section — a lead rule under Equipment & Safety, say — and "Add New Section" for a subject the agreement does not cover.
Need the old wording on record? The copy emailed when a client signed shows the clauses as they were then; download the signed PDFs before you change a clause, because a copy is rebuilt with your current clauses whenever it is opened or downloaded.
Clients are not told when you change a clause here, so tell them yourself. Editing the Dog Walking Agreement template on the Agreements page is different: a change to its wording sends every client an in-app notice.
A business created with dog walking starts with this policy on and empty. If walking was added to your plan later, it may already hold clauses copied from our walking set-up, or ones our support team added for you. Read them before a client signs.
